Camp WOW’s staff consists of about 40 college students that are fully committed to devoting their summers to impact the lives of the youth that come to camp. Our staff is what truly differentiates us from other camps. They constantly strive to show Christ in every act of service and interaction with campers. Come and get to know the staff that everyone is talking about.

Who are the Summer Staff? The Camp WOW Summer Staff truly is the heart and soul of our summer. The summer staff provide energy, service, and love to every camper that comes through WOW.

How old do I have to be to work for Camp WOW? Camp WOW hires college students who have completed their freshman year for summer staff. We also have a program for those who have finished their junior or senior year of high school called the Timothy Term program.

What does it take to be on staff at Camp WOW? Being selected to serve on staff at any Christ-centered Camp is an honor. Camp WOW only hires college students who have a genuine desire to serve like Jesus for the summer. Being on summer staff requires a selfless attitude, a loving heart, and a hard-working and flexible outlook. You also must be at least 1 year out of high school.

If I serve on staff at Camp WOW, what would my job be? Camp WOW is divided into four teams: Ropes Team- responsible for running all high  ropes elements; Water Front Team- responsible for guarding the lives of campers at the Lake Front; Tech Team- responsible for running sound, photography, videography, video editing, etc; Support Staff- responsible for running the camp store, laser tag, and filling in when other staff are absent.  The Water Front, Ropes, and Support Teams are also responsible for running recreation activities, late night parties, serving meals, cleaning up, hanging out with campers, and any other service opportunity that arises. Tech Team will also have various other responsibilities.

Does Camp WOW Summer Staff get paid? Yes. Although we know those who come to serve with us are not doing it for the money, we also recognize and appreciate the hard work our staff provides and we know financial needs are great among college students. First year staff is paid $175 for work week and $750/session (2 sessions). Staffers also receive all meals and lodging at no cost.  Pay does increase for returning staff.

If you’re in high school, you love the Lord, love camp, and would love to have an awesome experience this summer, you’ve come to the right place. Camp WOW is looking for juniors and seniors in high school who would like to spend 2 weeks this summer volunteering to serve a Timothy Term at Camp WOW. This is a non-paid program, but you will be provided free lodging and food for the duration of your term. As a Camp WOW “Timothy,” you will share almost all of the responsibilities of a full time summer staff member. You will be mentored and discipled by one of our college students and you will have the opportunity to experience what camp life is like behind the scenes.
