FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I view pictures? Follow the instructions above except, after registering, simply sign in and click on the Photo Gallery button. Photos are kept in folders found on the left side of the page below the words “Image Folders”. Click on any folder to see the pictures within that folder. You can even purchase prints or other photo gifts (e.g., t-shirts, mugs) of your favorite pictures! There is no cost to view pictures.

How do I send a Bunk Note (one-way email) to my camper? Follow the instructions above except, after registering, simply sign in and click on the Bunk Notes button. Enter your camper’s name, select the correct cabin, type your message, and hit the “Send” button.

Can other relatives use these services? Certainly. Once you have set up your account, you will be able to invite other people to access these services.

Why do I have to pay to send Bunk Notes (one-way email)? Each morning, the Bunk Notes system bundles and sorts the messages for us to print out and distribute to campers. It also protects us from computer viruses and allows us to easily manage these emails. Your payment helps us cover the cost of the system, paper, ink, and labor and, more importantly, frees us to do what we do best – be with your kids! Bunk Note credits cost $1 each and are purchased in packs of various sizes.

What do I do if I lost my username and password? You can get it online by going to www.Bunk1.com and clicking on the link “Lost Your Password?” (to the left of the page below the sign in button). You will receive an email with your username and password within a few minutes.

QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS? Please call Bunk1 at 1-800-216-9472 or go to www.bunk1.com/contact.asp

You can pre-order your WOW merchandise, DVD, and Cash Card by visiting our online store here.  Place your order and have it waiting for your camper when they arrive!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do you do for security? Every visitor has to check in through our main office. If a child needs to leave early with a parent, they must be checked out through the camp office and through their church leader as well.

Is your staff certified? Yes, our waterfront staff all have current lifeguard and CPR certifications through the American Red Cross. All of our ropes staff are also ropes course certified by adventure experiences and CPR certified through the American Red Cross.

Who do you hire for summer staff? Camp WOW only hires America’s finest collegiate students. They all go through a thorough application and interview process. This process includes a background check. Camp WOW’s directors recruit at numerous colleges to find students who love Christ and kids.

How much money should my child bring? We have found that on average campers bring $20.00. This is to be used in the snack shack to buy snacks, t-shirts, and things of that nature. You can also purchase a WOW cash card which puts their money on a card so if they lose it we still have the account on file. This can be pre-purchased our store here, or they can do it when they arrive.

Who stays with my child in the bunks? Camp WOW staff does not stay with the campers. Campers will stay in dorms with counselors from their church group.

How do I know that my child will be safe? Camp WOW strives to minimize any risk of injury. We accomplish this by certifying and training all of our staff with safety being our chief goal. We also give every group an orientation with our camp rules first thing when they arrive.

How deep is the waterfront? The lake is 30 foot deep but is only used for riding tubes. Life jackets are required in this area and a maximum of two campers are allowed at a time. The swimming area has a shallow end of 5 feet and a deep end of 12 feet. All campers must pass a swim test before being allowed to take part in the deep end without a life jacket. In the deep end we have a 1:1 staffer and 1:2 lifeguard to camper in the water ratio.

What if my child has a food allergy? Camp WOW will allow campers to bring and store food in the kitchen for use during their stay.  Contact Tracy for notification/planning of special circumstances.

What if my child needs to take medication or medical treatment? Every group that comes is required to bring a certified nurse that will stay in our nursing station. All of the medication must be turned in and will be handled by the group’s nurse.

How do I contact my child? In case of Emergency you can call the Camp WOW office (580) 892-2600. You can also send emails to your camper by clicking the email tab on the parents page on Camp WOW’s website. This is a one-way service and they cannot send an email back. There are phones that they can use with a calling card or call collect (unless the group is not allowing it).

Purchase a WOW Cash Card here.

Put your student’s money on a WOW Cash Card to save them the hassle of keeping up with cash. This program allows you, the parent or student, to put money on a card that has an individual bar code for each student. This way you never have to carry cash and if you lose your card we still have your info and balance left in our system. If you lose cash or it gets stolen you are pretty much out of luck. This is a great service that we hope you will take part in. You can pre-purchase a card at our online store. The card is not redeemable for cash. If there is a balance left on the card at the end of their stay the balance may be used at our online store after returning home (email store to obtain credit code) or the following year (if over $5.00 is left on the card you can contact us within 1week of leaving Camp WOW to get a check mailed to you. Contact us at store@campwow.com).

Camp WOW is located off HWY 75 near Gerty, OK. Click here for detailed directions.
