Brett started working at Camp WOW during our very first summer. He began by working as a lifeguard, but has also served as a team leader, maintenance worker, and assistant director throughout the years. He has taken a few years off here and there and worked as a police officer and a youth minister. In 2010, Brett took on the role of camp director. He oversees all aspects of camp life, including scheduling, summer camps, retreats, and staff.
While serving at Camp WOW as a summer college staffer, Brett met his future wife Rachel. They have been married since 2004 and now have an energetic little boy named Easton, born in Sept. 2009. Brett has a bachelor’s degree from UMHB and his Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University.
Micah started working at Camp WOW in 2007. Prior to joining our staff, he had served as a pastor, associate pastor, and youth minister at churches in Missouri. At camp, Micah helps oversee summer camp activities, the hiring of our college summer staff, and he writes camp’s monthly newsletter. Together with his wife Amber, Micah also manages the camp store and leads weekly Bible studies for the staff.
Micah and Amber were high school sweethearts and married while Micah was in college in 2002. Since then, they welcomed a little boy, Micaiah, into the world in 2008 and another boy, Matthias, in 2013. Micah has a bachelor’s degree in religion from OBU and a Masters of Divinity and Masters of Arts in Biblical Languages from MBTS. He graduated from SWBTS with his Ph.D. in Theology in 2012, majoring in Christian Ethics and minoring in Pastoral Studies. While not at camp, Micah resides in Grand Prairie, TX. Micah also teaches adjunctly in the religion department for Liberty University Online.
Jenna joined the Camp WOW management team in March of 2012 as our first ever Missions Coordinator. Previously, Jenna served on staff at camp as a lifeguard in 2004 and 2005. She is an ECU graduate with a degree in Biology and has worked for several years in the Baptist Student Union. Jenna also serves as the Children’s Minister at her church, Lighthouse of Prayer. Jenna has a true heart for missions and has been on trips to Nicaragua and Mexico numerous times.
Jenna’s role at Camp WOW is to oversee and coordinate our mission endeavors. This includes working with various missionaries who have a relationship with camp and helping support them in their work. In addition, Jenna will help plan short-term mission trips and develop mission projects for students and staffers to participate in.
Jay has worked at Camp WOW every summer since it began. He has served as a lifeguard, a team leader, a part of the management team, and the camp director. In 2010, after serving for several years as director, Jay turned over those responsibilities to Brett and took on the role of director of management. In this capacity, Jay helps advise and lead the members of the management team, while also overseeing the finances of camp.
Jay married his wife Sara, who he met while they both worked on camp staff, in 2002. They now have two beautiful kids, Emma and Jackson. Jay graduated from OBU in 2002 with a degree in religion. He now lives in Moore, OK when not at camp and currently runs Boss Print Design, a wide format printing company he started in 2008.
God began working in John’s life many years ago, instilling in him a desire to start a Christian church camp. In 2001, that dream was realized and Camp WOW began to welcome in students to hear about the gospel of Jesus Christ and be forever transformed. While John has a passion for Camp WOW and is still greatly involved in all that goes on here, he also runs several other businesses in Moore, OK. The foremost of these is Showtime Concession Supply, a company which distributes supplies to theaters across the country.
John has been married to his wife Terri since 1977. Together, they have raised two children, Jay and Jenny, and are now enjoying their four grandchildren. John and Terri also have a great passion for missions and are always looking to spread God’s Word wherever they can.
Kirk and Tracy have been with Camp WOW since the beginning. Knowing that God had great things in store, they moved to camp before there was a camp. Since then, Kirk has served on our maintenance team, specializing in carpentry. Tracy serves as the camp office manager, administering camp finances and assisting in booking and communicating with churches and groups. Married since 1985, they have two daughters, Chelsea and Carrie, who are now pursuing their college education.
Max came to work at Camp WOW on maintenance in the second year of our existence. Since then, he has been a crucial component in the functioning of camp life. Max is a licensed electrician and helps in building and repairing various components of our facilities.
